Whole New Dimension Cabinet Vision and Alphacam Contribute to Global Recognition

GMIT Letterfrack (The Furniture College) is a national centre for furniture design and wood technology education that needed to prepare students for a modern, technology-driven woodworking industry. The challenge was to integrate traditional craft values with industry-standard CAD/CAM tools and machinery so graduates would be skilled, adaptable and readily employable in commercial production environments.

By embedding Cabinet Vision and Alphacam—alongside Homag machinery—throughout the curriculum (from second-year CAD/CAM briefs to advanced solid modelling, Screen to Machine NC output, Label-I.T. and G‑code instruction), the college gave students practical, industry-ready skills. The result is global recognition for the programme and strong graduate outcomes: students secure placements and jobs worldwide, across small workshops to large manufacturers, and can quickly solve real-world woodworking and production challenges.
