A Vero Software Case Study
DECS GmbH is a Thuringia-based specialist in polyurethane and composite automotive trim who was contracted to produce the front bonnet, tailgate and roof for the Artega GT — a high‑performance, carbon‑reinforced sports car. The project demanded very lightweight, thin‑walled components (using honeycomb and natural‑fibre reinforced polyurethanes), complex undercut geometries and tight integration with clients’ native CAD data, plus reliable multi‑axis trimming and fixture design for production.
DECS deployed VISI from Vero for integrated solid/surface CAD and simultaneous 5‑axis CAM, designed jigs and fixtures in the same environment, and used Huber & Grimme gantry mills with Siemens 840D plus NC simulation to validate toolpaths. The result was full production supply of the Artega GT exterior panels, accurate and process‑safe multi‑axis trimming, seamless handling of native CAD formats, and finished parts that can be about 45% lighter than conventional injection‑moulded alternatives; DECS reports VISI exceeded expectations.
