A Vero Software Case Study
Toffolo Stirling, a Stirling-based stone fabricator, was tasked with producing and installing a 2.5 m Jura blue-grey limestone spiral staircase made from 16 risers at about 175 mm thickness — the thickest material they had ever machined. The project pushed their Brembana CNC and tooling to the limits, required tight precision so the risers would fit perfectly, and demanded fast, reliable programming for a largely bespoke workflow.
They used Alphacam Stone to import and refine the architect’s DWG, then produced a single program that automatically generated optimized toolpaths for both sawing and machining on their 24-tool Brembana. Programming took around two hours for about 64 hours of machining, with Alphacam’s simulation ensuring collision-free, high-precision cutting, speeding installation to under two days, improving sales demos, and enabling more complex, profitable one-off projects.
