A Vero Software Case Study
Thame Workholding, a Buckinghamshire-based leader in bespoke workholding for aerospace, motorsport, medical, marine and energy sectors, faced slow, inefficient design and production because their 2D drafting tools couldn’t work with most customers’ 3D models. Converting 3D files back to 2D cost time and made creating fixtures and bespoke jaws for their 15+ CNC machines cumbersome, limiting throughput and flexibility.
By adopting VISI for feature-based 3D modelling and automatic 2D drafting, and Edgecam for CAM, Thame now loads master models directly into machining, cutting design time by up to tenfold and enabling seamless toolpath creation. The combined solution drives their multi-brand and 5‑axis machines, supports lights-out machining that produces 20 complete jaw sets overnight, and now covers 98% of their product designs—boosting efficiency, capacity and confidence for new bespoke workholding.
