A Vero Software Case Study
Rosell Werkzeugbau & Stanztechnik GmbH is a German specialist in press tools and metal-stamped components that was tasked with delivering a complex progressive tool for the Audi Q5 retainer sill made from high‑strength (1000 N/mm²) steel. The long, collaborative development schedule and the need to predict forming behavior, present clear tool mechanics to the OEM, and control material waste and tight tolerances made the project technically demanding and hard to manage with their old 2D methods.
By adopting the VISI suite (VISI Blank, VISI Progress and VISI Machining) Rosell automated blank development from a material database, simulated and optimized 3D strip and forming stages, and linked designs directly to Wire EDM and 3D HSM manufacture. 3D presentations enabled live customer sign‑off, laser‑cut prototyping with CMM feedback tightened tolerances, and automatic 2D drawings and efficient nesting reduced material waste—changes that Rosell describes as a “quantum leap” in productivity and customer collaboration.
