A Vero Software Case Study
Promach 3D is a Derby-based engineering subcontractor that makes complex, small-batch components for motorsport, aerospace and rail. Although the company had always used Edgecam CAM software, owner Matt Fazekas discovered during a site review that they were only using a fraction of its capabilities—missing 22 useful features in a typical milling scenario—because day-to-day production left little time for training. That gap threatened efficiency and profitability as the software advanced.
An Edgecam engineer demonstrated shortcuts and workflows—such as render-by-slope, update-stock simulation, IGES-to-solid import, silhouette geometry creation and background processing—and Promach committed to structured learning (What’s New courses, webinars, user groups and the support portal). The result: faster programming, better simulation and significant time savings, enabling 5-axis-quality components on 3-axis machines and a renewed company priority on ongoing Edgecam training.
