A Vero Software Case Study
Prodir, a Swiss manufacturer of customised “Personality pens. Swiss made,” faced the challenge of producing high-quality, visually precise small injection-moulded components while minimising waste and keeping tight development-to-delivery timelines. Critical issues included correct gate placement, weld lines, air traps, warpage and colour/material matching for complex parts where appearance and invisible feeding sites are essential.
Prodir adopted Vero’s VISI Flow plastic-flow simulation early in the design stage, typically running 5–6 simulations per pen to predict and fix moulding problems before steel was cut. The software guided gate relocation and injection parameter changes (resolving a DS2 cap issue), reduced production time by over a month per project, eliminated moulding defects, improved material usage and helped lower waste — supporting faster delivery of high-quality, environmentally mindful pens.
