Plastica Thermoforming, a 65-year-old thermoforming specialist in Bergen op Zoom (NL), designs and produces customer-specific synthetic products. As product diversity and size grew, their previous on-machine “teach” method for 5-axis trimming became labor-intensive and slow, creating bottlenecks and inconsistent program quality that limited throughput and reliable scheduling.

Plastica adopted VISI Modelling and VISI Machining 5‑axis to create full 3D CAD models, manage complex customer data, and generate offline, collision-checked NC programs with precise control over toolpaths, tilt and lead in/out methods. The change enabled faster, higher-quality programming, full utilization of their Geiss ECO and other 5‑axis machines, smoother shop-floor operations and, ultimately, a doubling of production capacity with a single software solution and strong supplier support.
