Northcentral Technical College uses Alphacam to prepare future woodworkers for the workforce

Northcentral Technical College, a Wisconsin vocational school with a 28,000 sq ft technical center, runs a Wood Science program focused on hands-on training and job-ready skills. The challenge was to give students real-world CNC and CAM experience with industry-standard tools so graduates could step directly into woodworking roles used by local manufacturers.

NTC adopted Alphacam as its primary CAM solution, teaching students CNC router programming, CAD import, 3D simulation and nesting to manage tooling, material use and full production workflows. As a result, graduates are highly sought after—on one occasion 17 companies recruited on campus and students commonly receive multiple job offers—while classroom use of Alphacam improved students’ material management, production understanding and employability.
