A Vero Software Case Study
MP Engineering, a Leicestershire-based subcontractor to motorsport and aerospace, produces high-precision components for Roger Clark Motorsport’s Time Attack car, Gobstopper 11. The challenge was to deliver hundreds of highly complex, high-stress 5‑axis parts quickly and reliably—parts that must withstand extreme rpm and loads—while avoiding machining collisions and long lead times.
By using Edgecam to import solid models, generate optimized 5‑axis toolpaths and run full simulations, MP Engineering programs its nine 5‑axis and four 3‑axis machines far faster and safer. The outcome is rapid prototyping and production (toolpaths created in hours instead of weeks), lower cost and turnaround, reliable manufacture of gearbox, engine and suspension components, and scalable commercial supply of parts that help the car reach 840 bhp and perform competitively.
