A Vero Software Case Study
MNB Moulds is a West Midlands toolmaker (est. 1974) producing 50–70 high‑precision, multi‑cavity hardened steel moulds annually for automotive, medical and electrical customers. Despite using CAD/CAM, the company faced a labour‑intensive 2D machining process that relied on manual MDI input, creating bottlenecks, operator errors and limited productivity.
Working with Vero, MNB standardized on the VISI CAD/CAM suite, adopted Compass automated 2D machining, moved to a network license and trained staff to create an integrated design‑to‑manufacture workflow. The result was a c.20% increase in machining productivity, elimination of manual MDI errors, about 60 hours saved on a single tool, projected annual savings of over £60,000, and increased capacity and quality across the toolroom.
