Meccanica Pi.Erre S.r.l., based in Brescia, Italy, is a European leader in trimming and finishing technologies for castings, producing about 200 moulds per year in a 3,500 m² facility. Their production requires highly customized tools (each with 100+ parts), and their legacy parametric CAD/CAM system proved hard to use, slow to learn and inadequate for fast, variable production—causing workflow bottlenecks and quality-checking anomalies.
