A Vero Software Case Study
KA Tooling, a UK-based maker of bespoke plastic injection mould tools, was facing rapid growth that outstripped its premises, machine capacity and previous software’s speed and accuracy. Needing faster, more reliable design-to-manufacture workflows—especially to produce durable aluminium tooling and shorten customer lead times—the company moved to a 6,500 sq ft facility and expanded its CNC fleet to meet demand.
KA implemented VISI across modelling, machining, mould, electrode, Flow-Lite and Compass modules and paired the software with additional CNCs and an EDM. The result: average tool design time fell by 50% (from two days to under one), in-house design rose to ~90% (from ~25%), bolster machining was automated to one centre, cycle times and data errors were reduced, they now make 100+ high-precision tools a year, and can deliver expedited two-week turnarounds while producing aluminium tools that run well beyond 500,000 mouldings.
