Javelin Controls 10-Million Sterimedix Products a Year

Sterimedix is a Worcestershire manufacturer of single‑use needles and cannulas for ophthalmic surgery and non‑surgical aesthetic procedures, producing around 10 million instruments a year and exporting to roughly 60 countries. As an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified SME with about 50 employees and a £6m turnover, the company needed robust production control, full batch traceability, multi‑currency purchasing and better shop‑floor and sales order management to replace manual records and spreadsheets.

Since 2006 Sterimedix has used Javelin MRP (around 20 licenses), adding the Javelin 2015r1 CRM, shop‑floor data capture, weekly MRP and multi‑currency PO handling. The system provides end‑to‑end traceability and real‑time work‑order status, cuts batch‑traceability from hours to about ten minutes, exposes operator performance for targeted training, streamlines sales and purchasing, and produces complex custom reports: “We can obtain any information from Javelin in exactly the formats required. Crystal Reports enable us to produce some extremely complicated reports.”
