Formenbau Kellermann GmbH is a family-run German toolmaker near Nürnberg, founded in 1970, that produces complex single- and multi-component mould tools for the automotive industry. Facing pricing pressure, competition from emerging markets and ever-shorter project timelines, the 27-person company needed greater flexibility and faster throughput while maintaining high quality.

Kellermann implemented an integrated VISI CAD/CAM system with Compass feature-recognition, standardised components and a palletised 5‑axis machining workflow with zero-point clamping. The automation and tooling-library sharing removed CNC bottlenecks, enabled fast automatic toolpath generation and better surface finishes, boosted machining productivity and cut lead times by more than 20%, lowering costs and improving responsiveness.
