A Vero Software Case Study
Ferris-Tech Limited, founded in 2006 by engineers with a passion for angling, set out to solve the limitations of traditional bait feeders: difficulty creating and keeping ground bait intact during casting and sinking, poor casting accuracy and flight stability, and the risk of line snarl on retrieval.
Using Vero’s VISI CAD and rapid prototyping support from Coventry and Warwick universities, Ferris-Tech developed the patented Bait Bomb with aerodynamic dimples, tail fins and optimized internal balance for stable, accurate casts, plus a biodegradable clip that dissolves to trigger a spring-loaded hinge that disperses bait into an attractant cloud. Launched at the Go Fishing NEC, the product has already moved over 2,000 units through baitbomb.co.uk, and Ferris-Tech highlights VISI’s flexible CAD, integrated CAD/CAM workflow and strong supplier support as key benefits.
