Edgecam Partnership Optimises Cutting Tool Performance

Advanced Cutting Tools (ACT) is a UK cutting‑tool distributor that provides a full technical solutions service to help manufacturers improve machining performance. Faced with customers struggling with long cycle times and unprofitable parts — for example an aerospace component that took four hours 20 minutes over four operations — ACT needed a way to optimise machining strategies and toolpaths to boost productivity and profitability.

ACT partnered with Edgecam CAM software, trained staff in its use, and reprogrammed parts while changing setups, workholding and tooling where needed.
