Fab Factory, a Tampa-based shop co-owned by Shawn Grawunde, builds one-of-a-kind custom turbo assemblies and high-performance engine components for customers who demand unique, high-quality work. The business faced long lead times and high costs when outsourcing bespoke flanges and billet parts, which didn’t meet the speed or precision required for customers investing $20,000–$60,000 in builds.

To solve this, Fab Factory invested in a Haas VF-4SS and adopted SOLIDWORKS for design and Edgecam for CAM, using Edgecam Workflow’s seamless SOLIDWORKS import and automatic feature recognition to generate accurate toolpaths. The in-house process eliminated outsourcing, sped delivery, ensured tight tolerances and consistent finishes, improved customer service, and enabled new customizable product offerings.
