A Vero Software Case Study
Great British Sports Cars, a Nottingham-based specialist that builds up to 85 kit and factory cars a year, faced a development bottleneck: each car uses around 2,000 parts and relying on off‑the‑shelf components and subcontractors limited their ability to improve design, speed production and rapidly prototype new ideas.
They installed a Hardinge Bridgeport 4‑axis machining centre programmed with Edgecam (with a Hardinge GS51 lathe planned), enabling in‑house production of complex parts like dampers, throttle bodies and inlet manifolds. The new setup delivered faster CAD‑to‑machine programming, lower costs and higher quality, allowed them to supply components to other manufacturers (including dampers used on a podium‑winning Lotus Elise race car), and strengthened their credibility as a true British car manufacturer.
