Cristófoli Biosafety Equipment, based in Campo Mourão, Paraná, manufactures more than 150,000 autoclaves for medical and laboratory use and machines many production components in its in‑house tooling department. Faced with the need for greater agility and shorter cycle times without adding equipment, the shop sought to speed up roughing operations and improve machine and tool utilization.
By adopting Edgecam’s Waveform technology, Cristófoli achieved a constant‑cut toolpath that permitted much higher feed rates and deeper cuts while reducing vibrations and tool wear. The change cut the adjustable rod roughing cycle from 14:07 to 2:43 (≈81% reduction) and reduced a mold cavity cycle from 3.5 hours to 50 minutes (≈76%); overall machine utilization and tool life also improved with no additional capital investment.
