Cabinet Concepts by Design (Springfield, MO), bought in 2007 by Matt and Shelley Wehner with limited industry experience, faced a recession, a saturated lower-end market, and the need to quickly win high-end work and scale production with a very small team. Their challenge was to present compelling designs, control costs accurately, and improve shop efficiency to secure more business and survive.
By adopting Cabinet Vision and using online/in‑house training and e‑support, CCD leveraged 3D presentations, automated cutlists, detailed cost and material reports, and direct CNC integration. The results: cutlist creation time cut by about 50%, improved accuracy and throughput, secured major high‑end projects (including two very large homes), grown to 22 employees with a new 30,000 ft² facility, and sales increases of 25–40% annually since 2010.
