Barker Cabinets caters to do-it-yourself Customers with the help of Cabinet Vision

Barker Cabinets, founded in 1978 in Tualatin, Oregon, is a custom, made-to-order cabinet company that empowers DIY customers to design products online from about 40 base cabinet varieties. The challenge was scaling production and speeding time-to-market for highly configurable, customer-designed cabinetry without sacrificing the handcrafted quality that defines the brand.

Barker implemented Cabinet Vision in the mid-1980s and added CNC machining in 2000, using Cabinet Vision’s User Created Standards to automate custom processes and streamline CNC programming; five dedicated layout staff prepare orders for the machines. The result is faster, more efficient production—new customer designs can appear on the site in ~48 hours and orders ship in 40–45 days—while maintaining quality, increasing productivity, and growing the team to 45 employees.
