A Vero Software Case Study
Goode Stone Supplies is an Oxfordshire stonemasonry firm (nine staff, 15,000 sq ft workshop) that found its growth limited by slow, multi‑setup cutting and restrictive proprietary software. Typical jobs such as a fireplace required repeated realignment (around eight times), which slowed production, increased labour needs (potentially four more operatives) and made complex, one‑off commissions impractical while also creating health and safety and dust‑control challenges.
The company installed Alphacam Advanced Stone to drive its bespoke GMM machines (including a unique 5‑axis with a Zeda head and the Litox bridge saw) and converted an existing GMM Egil to Alphacam. The result: single‑set‑up machining that can run unattended, markedly faster throughput, sub‑millimetre accuracy that guarantees parts fit on site, avoidance of extra hires, successful delivery of complex projects (e.g. a life‑and‑a‑quarter ironstone horse’s head), and cleaner, safer, more competitive operations.
