A Vero Software Case Study
James Leckey Design is a Northern Ireland–based developer and manufacturer of clinically focused postural care equipment for children and young adults. Faced with tight product development timelines, high-precision requirements for adjustable components, and the need to machine complex wood and plastic parts (including reliable reverse-side machining), the company needed a way to prototype and manufacture in-house while training new staff to produce consistent results.
By standardising on Alphacam CAD/CAM across five seats and two SCM routers, James Leckey can import SolidWorks models, nest parts, and use the Automation Manager to batch-process files from preparation through toolpaths and NC code. The solution enabled faster, more accurate in-house prototyping and production, made reverse-side machining routine, shortened time-to-market (new products delivered within months), and let new operators reach consistent output quickly, boosting overall productivity.
