A Vero Software Case Study
AE Aerospace is a Birmingham-based supplier of precision machined components for civil and military aircraft that, following a 2014 MBO, rapidly expanded—tripling turnover and headcount and producing over 25,000 parts a year. To move up the supply chain from one-off NPI work to complex 5‑axis milling and mill‑turn production they needed faster setup and machining times, accurate costings based on real toolpaths, and the ability to have programs ready before winning contracts.
AE Aerospace implemented Edgecam CAM with seamless integration to its new Mazak 5‑axis VariAxis and Integrex machines, doubled its Edgecam seats and collaborated with tooling partner Seco to refine cutting strategies. Offline programming and realistic cycle‑time estimates enabled quicker quoting and production readiness, letting the company transition into OE production, take on more complex 5‑axis work and larger packages, and continue strong growth across the group, including rolling Edgecam out at newly acquired Andover Precision.
