A Vero Software Case Study
A&B Machine and Design is a diversified Ohio job shop serving industries from aerospace to automotive that needed to boost efficiency and expand machining capabilities while freeing machinists from on-machine programming. Although the company owned Edgecam since 2004, limited use left them programming at the control, slowing throughput and constraining the types of work they could competitively pursue.
By fully integrating Edgecam for offline CAM programming—adding 3+2/5‑axis work, Waveform roughing, helical milling and full job simulation—A&B dramatically sped programming and production. Programs that once took an hour now run in about 15 minutes, job times dropped 50–75% on most work, machinists gained time for other tasks, tool life and cycle times improved, and the shop can quote and take on more complex, competitive jobs.
