Clovis Unified School District, which transports roughly 10,000 students across more than 160 buses, needed a more reliable way to monitor student safety and quickly investigate incidents. Its legacy bus camera systems stored footage locally, causing delays, missing video, and difficulty responding to concerns in real time. The district turned to Verkada for a cloud-connected security approach, including cameras, cellular gateways, and Command.

Verkada deployed mini dome cameras, cellular gateways, GPS-linked video search, and secure video sharing across the bus fleet, with support from Verkada Global Services and an integration partner. The result was on-demand access to footage from any bus, faster investigations, better incident context with audio and GPS, and time-limited, view-only sharing that protected student privacy and chain of custody. Clovis Unified said incidents are now resolved faster and staff have greater confidence in the system’s reliability and ease of use.
