A Verkada Case Study
Muhlenberg County Public Libraries faced an outdated, hard-to-manage surveillance setup across three locations—relying on a patchwork of Hikvision and Nest systems that prevented easy multi-site viewing, made scaling difficult, and burdened a small IT team. System Administrator Luke Waltrip selected Verkada’s video security platform to replace the legacy systems and simplify monitoring, access, and management.
Verkada deployed cloud-connected cameras and a centralized interface that lets Luke create multi-location camera grids, share live footage via SMS/weblink, and monitor entrances and parking lots from anywhere. The solution removed the need for NVRs/DVRs, lowered bandwidth per camera, and made system administration doable by one person—improving visibility, staff safety, and operational efficiency while enabling planned expansion across library locations.
