How a Japanese Beauty School Maintains Safe and Healthy Environments

Chunichi Beauty College, a top beauty school in Nagoya, Japan, needed a way to keep its four campuses safe and healthy while complying with Japan’s amended Health Promotion Act and preventing passive smoking. The college also wanted a better system to improve discipline, reduce theft, and make security footage easier to access. Verkada provided security cameras and air quality sensors to help address these challenges.

Using Verkada’s integrated Command platform, Chunichi Beauty College deployed 28 security cameras and 87 air quality sensors across its campuses to detect smoke, including from e-cigarettes, and trigger real-time alerts for staff via browser and iPad access. The solution helped faculty respond quickly to incidents, focus only on relevant footage, and maintain a more secure, healthier environment while protecting student privacy.
