Everton R-III School District Strengthens Safety and Emergency Preparedness with Verkada

Everton R-III School District, a rural Missouri school district, needed to improve safety and emergency readiness while working with limited resources, an outdated security system, and the challenge of being more than 25 minutes from first responders. To help address these concerns, the district turned to Verkada’s integrated safety platform, including cameras, access control, intercom, alarms, and air quality sensors.

Verkada helped Everton R-III School District launch its first district-wide Emergency Operations Plan, start a Student Protection Officer program, and deploy cloud-based tools for real-time monitoring and emergency response. With Verkada, staff can initiate lockdowns, share live camera feeds and floorplans with responders, and secure entry points; the district also secured a Missouri School Safety Grant to fund the rollout. The result is stronger stakeholder confidence, faster response capabilities, and a safer, more prepared school environment.
