Tree Tech Inc., a tree-care company in Foxboro, Massachusetts that operates a 57-truck fleet across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, struggled to manage fuel use, routing and vehicle misuse across widespread crews. To gain real-time oversight and improve efficiency, Tree Tech turned to Verizon Connect’s GPS fleet tracking solution.

Verizon Connect was deployed on the company’s busiest vehicles (initial rollout to 25 trucks in September 2008) to deliver minute-by-minute location, idling, speed and traffic data. Using Verizon Connect’s routing and monitoring tools, Tree Tech cut fuel costs by about $2,000 a month, reduced excessive idling and speeding, improved arrival-time estimates and customer documentation, and sped response to breakdowns—while curbing vehicle misuse.
