St. Johns County Public Works Boosts Efficiency and Trust with Verizon Connect Reveal

St. Johns County Public Works Department, serving more than 337,000 residents across a large and geographically diverse area in northeast Florida, was struggling with slow, manual fleet tracking. Before working with Verizon Connect, staff had to physically download vehicle data from trucks with USB devices, making it difficult to know where crews were in real time or respond quickly to emergencies and citizen inquiries.

To modernize operations, St. Johns County Public Works implemented Verizon Connect Reveal for near real-time GPS fleet visibility, integrating it with Esri and Cityworks for shared maintenance data. Verizon Connect helped the county track more than 300 vehicles and assets, improve resource allocation and accountability, speed response times, and strengthen preventive maintenance compliance—while also supporting future expansion across additional departments and use cases.
