Digirad, a global leader in solid-state gamma cameras with a fleet of over 140 vehicles across 20 states, faced challenges in managing vehicles that employees took home — from tag renewals and service reminders to driver accountability. Frustrated by their prior GPS provider’s lack of training, poor usability and inflexible, flood-prone alerts, Digirad evaluated multiple telematics vendors and selected Verizon Connect in February 2015 for its fleet software and GPS tracking solution.

Verizon Connect delivered hands-on device installation, personalized training and an intuitive platform with a mobile app, fuel-card integration, key-fob driver identification, in-cab alerts, customizable dashboards, driver scorecards and faster, customizable reporting. The solution was rolled out across Digirad’s fleet (including multi-state installations) and led to clearer driver oversight, improved fleet safety, easier supervisor workflows and cost savings — and, after negotiation, Verizon Connect’s final price was only $2 different from competitors while delivering significantly more value.
