Crane Transport Enhances Customer Service and Improves Compliance with Verizon Connect

Crane Transport, a Gainesville, Georgia carrier with 275 vehicles and over 350 employees, needed better driver visibility, accurate delivery ETAs, and a compliant alternative to paper logs while improving safety and fuel efficiency. To solve these challenges they deployed Verizon Connect’s fleet telematics solution — including GPS/Live Map, eLogs, driver-behavior monitoring and the Verizon Connect mobile app.

Verizon Connect’s live mapping, eLogs, behavior dashboards and Daily Reports gave Crane Transport real-time location and ETA visibility for customers, monetized fuel-use insights for driver coaching, and automated log handling. The results: elimination of two to three people doing manual log data entry, an accident rate of just 0.32% (well below the DOT 1.5% threshold), faster customer communications via Live Map screenshots, and measurable reductions in speeding, harsh braking and wasted fuel.
