City of Hamilton Improves Fleet Visibility and Resident Satisfaction With the Help of Verizon Connect

The City of Hamilton, Ohio, a growing municipality with a mixed fleet of 400+ vehicles, needed a flexible fleet-technology solution for its newly created Department of Infrastructure to improve service delivery and communication with residents and employees. The city adopted Verizon Connect, integrated with Esri GIS, to replace a clunky legacy system and enable faster, more accessible vehicle data and reporting.

Verizon Connect delivered vehicle tracking, geofencing, idling reports, diagnostic trouble code alerts, and an Esri-powered resident-facing snowplow map that shows which streets have been cleared. The solution improved resident visibility and satisfaction, enabled proactive maintenance scheduling, reduced fleet idling, and made location and activity reporting simple for managers—helping the City of Hamilton use resources more efficiently and validate work performed.
