Preview of the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association Case Study

Wright-Hennepin relies on Verizon One Talk during COVID-19

Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association, an electric utility serving two Minnesota counties, faced the challenge of rapidly transitioning its essential office and security personnel to a secure work-from-home model at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. They needed to deploy a system within 24 hours to allow 36 employees to work remotely while ensuring customer calls were effectively routed to the correct teams at all times. To meet this urgent need, they turned to Verizon Business and its One Talk solution.

Verizon Business implemented its One Talk business phone system, equipping 36 employees' smartphones with the service and its Native Dialer feature. The solution included configuring a Hunt Group to intelligently route calls from the main business number to employees based on their shifts, replicating the office environment remotely. The entire system was deployed in less than 24 hours, enabling uninterrupted 24/7 security monitoring and customer service with no required user training. This allowed Wright-Hennepin employees to efficiently handle calls from customers as if they were still in the office.
