SWIFT assurance framework How Crédit Mutuel Arkéa got ahead of its assessment

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, a member of SWIFT, needed to meet new mandatory and advisory security controls under the SWIFT assurance framework by 2021, while also handling the added complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic. To prepare for the assessment and strengthen its security posture, the bank worked with Verizon Business, using its Payment Security Programs-related independent audit services.

Verizon Business acted as an independent auditor, helping Crédit Mutuel Arkéa assess the scope, effectiveness, and maturity of its controls through data collection, interviews, and detailed evidence review. The project was completed in less than six months, avoided delays despite virtual-only meetings, improved the bank’s security maturity and internal understanding of SWIFT CSP compliance, and helped Crédit Mutuel Arkéa achieve a successful SWIFT assurance framework assessment.
