Frazil, the largest frozen, non-carbonated beverage brand in the U.S., wanted a better way to manage slush machines in convenience stores and reduce losses caused by broken, empty, or unreported equipment. The company partnered with Verizon Business to find an IoT-based approach that could give retailers and Frazil better visibility into machine status, uptime, and service issues.
Verizon Business helped Frazil connect its monitoring modules through ThingSpace and the Verizon IoT network, enabling remote device and connectivity management across more than 2,500 machines. The solution lets Frazil proactively identify issues, improve service response, and gather operational insights; for example, Frazil found that machines kept full only 50% to 75% of the time saw 15% lower sales, while those full less than 50% of the time saw about 20% lower sales.
