Empowering Women 50% in Regional Leadership Roles

The agroforestry organization Mother Trees partnered with veritree to further its mission of empowering women and restoring ecosystems in Senegal. The challenge was to create sustainable income opportunities and improve food security for local communities through targeted tree planting initiatives.

Using the veritree platform, Mother Trees implemented a solution that provided women with tailored training and collective garden plots. This veritree-supported program has planted 3.8 million trees to date and achieved significant social impact, with women occupying 50% of regional leadership roles and making up 60% of the participants in savings and loan groups.
