The LA Chargers faced the challenge of managing and unlocking 60 years of historical video content stored in outdated offline formats. Their ability to search and distribute this content was severely limited as they moved to higher-resolution formats, demanding a new cloud-based digital asset management architecture. Veritone, along with its partner Integrated Media Technologies, Inc., was enlisted to address this with its Enterprise AI platform, aiWARE.
Veritone's solution integrated the Chargers' media asset management system with AI engines from the aiWARE ecosystem. This allowed the team to use over 300 AI models for automated metadata tagging, making content searchable. The results were significant: Veritone helped the Chargers avoid hiring three additional staff, reduced a 371-day metadata task down to just hours, and minimized IT and storage costs through a pay-for-usage AI model.
