A Public Sector Organization, a local municipality, needed to modernize its legacy backup and disaster recovery environment while maintaining data retention and supporting growing data and cyber-risk demands. Veritas Technologies, working through a Veritas Technology Partner, was brought in to replace the old SAN- and tape-based approach and help the organization protect hosted data centers more effectively.

Veritas Technologies delivered NetBackup software and NetBackup Flex Appliance hardware, along with implementation services, training, and on-site support. The solution added a third site for protection, enabled disaster recovery between data centers, and integrated Oracle and SQL workloads; the municipality completed its first successful cross-data-center disaster recovery in 24 hours, well within the 72-hour SLA, while staying on time and under budget.
