Case Study: Gyosei System Kyushu achieves reliable, faster municipal‑cloud backups with Veritas Technologies' NetBackup Appliance

A Veritas Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Gyosei System Kyushu Case Study

Veritas NetBackup Appliances provide data protection infrastructure for Kyushu's new "municipality cloud".

Gyosei System Kyushu K.K., a major provider of municipal IT solutions in Kyushu, built its own IaaS-based "municipal cloud" to host its Acrocity services and needed a more reliable, efficient backup environment. Its previous vendor backup service struggled to complete daily backups across 250+ VMs, causing delays, failed jobs and potential operational risks that threatened business continuity for multiple municipalities.

To address this, the company deployed Veritas NetBackup Appliances on a Fujitsu hyperconverged VMware (PRIMEFLEX) platform, using features like high-performance incremental synthetic fulls, global deduplication, web UI and Instant Access, plus AIR replication to a secondary data center. The result was faster, more reliable daily backups with reduced storage needs, shorter backup windows, consolidated policies, easier restores and lower operational workload—creating a scalable, BCP-ready foundation for expanding the municipal cloud to 50+ organizations.
