Trimono LDA, a Portuguese electrical and building-automation firm of about 50 employees, faced inefficient and fragmented data protection: weekly local backups, physical transport of USB drives for offsite copies, and different backup tools across servers. That process produced a one-week recovery point objective (RPO), recovery times measured in hours, and significant IT overhead.

Trimono consolidated its environment onto Veritas Backup Exec with a native Amazon S3 cloud connector to automate secure offsite backups. Nightly backups reduced RPO from seven days to one day (an 86% improvement), cut RTO from hours to minutes, enabled offsite disaster recovery for all systems, reclaimed roughly 96 IT hours per year, and increased confidence in recovery; the company now retains six weeks locally and two weeks in S3 and has started migrating other services to AWS.
