Oncor, Texas’ largest electricity transmission and distribution company, needed to meet a regulatory mandate to deliver disaster recovery for its Advanced Meter System (AMS) by the end of 2016. Because AMS is a complex, multi-tiered platform integrated with market systems and outage management, Oncor required scheduled site switchovers, alternating failovers across production data centers, and a way to simplify and automate recovery processes to meet strict service-level objectives.

Oncor implemented the Veritas Resiliency Platform, supported by Veritas consulting, training, and business-critical services, as a single orchestration solution. VRP provided automated failover/failback, workload migration, non-disruptive testing and single-click toggling between sites—reducing AMS recovery from hours to minutes, lowering operational complexity, fulfilling regulatory commitments, and proving a model to extend resiliency to other mission‑critical applications.
