Marubeni Corporation, a Tokyo-based diversified trading conglomerate, adopted Office 365 Exchange Online to improve enterprise-wide email communication but found its native archiving and eDiscovery capabilities insufficient. The company needed immutable, long-term preservation and the ability to run rapid, narrowly focused and simultaneous searches (including chat records) to meet regulatory retention and litigation requirements without excessive time or legal costs.

Marubeni implemented Veritas Enterprise Vault.cloud to archive incoming and outgoing mail for about 4,500 users. EV.cloud delivered high-speed, multi-condition and simultaneous searches, record-type filtering and secure access controls, reducing compliance risk, lowering eDiscovery time and costs, and enabling efficient evidence collection with the option to expand archiving across the group globally.
