BGF Retail, a leading convenience-store network based in Seoul with about 2,200 employees, wanted to improve the cost efficiency of its data protection as part of its ongoing innovation efforts. The company’s challenge was to reduce storage and backup costs while maintaining reliable backup and recovery for its workloads.

BGF deployed Veritas NetBackup to Microsoft Azure, using on‑premises deduplication and NetBackup’s Azure connector to tier backups and automate lifecycle management. The move cut Azure storage requirements by about 80%, lowered storage costs by ~20%, delivered roughly 40% lower TCO versus adding another on‑prem NetBackup Appliance, and required no additional staff thanks to a single consolidated management console.
