A Veritas Technologies Case Study
PRODUBANCO, one of Ecuador’s largest banks, faced strict regulatory requirements to retain certain data for up to 10–15 years but relied on legacy tape backups that offered little visibility or precise lifecycle management. The tape system slowed nightly batch processing, threatened backup success, and led to long recovery windows that risked service availability.
The bank migrated most backups to a Veritas data protection solution with a Veritas Access Appliance, moving to disk-based long-term storage. This cut core banking recovery from 48 to 7 hours (an 85% improvement), reduced many VM recoveries to minutes, sped and improved nightly backups, streamlined disaster recovery, lowered storage and staffing costs, and provided the visibility needed to manage retention by data type.
