EPC company builds protected, accessible data store with Veritas NetBackup™ and Azure

GS E&C, a Seoul-based global engineering, procurement, and construction firm, was struggling to complete nightly tape backups as data volumes grew to 40–50 TB, forcing partial backups over several days. The IT team wanted to eliminate tape management, adopt cloud services, and lay the groundwork for better data access to support analytics and a data-driven transformation.

Working with Veritas and Microsoft, GS E&C replaced tape with a Veritas NetBackup Appliance and Azure hybrid storage: data is deduplicated, cleansed, encrypted, and stored on disk locally and in Azure, all managed from a single dashboard. The new solution eliminated costly tape operations, sped up backups, improved recoverability and security, reduced IT effort, and positioned the company to pursue analytics and broader digital transformation.
