Mitre 10 NZ, a nationwide home‑improvement cooperative with more than 100 stores and 4,500 employees, needed to support rapid growth and simplify protection of about 16 TB of data in an almost entirely virtualized environment (155 VMs). The upgrade (completed in about four hours) delivered up to 3x faster backups, 67% less backup administration time (about 400+ hours reclaimed per year), projected five‑figure annual savings by largely eliminating tape operations, >95% backup success and 100% recovery success, and an RTO reduced from days to hours.
