Case Study: 888 Holdings achieves 24x7 availability and centralized data protection with Veritas Technologies

A Veritas Technologies Case Study

Preview of the 888 Holdings Case Study

888 Holdings Holds the Four Aces in Data Protection

888 Holdings is a global online gaming operator (888.com and related sites) that needed to centralize a fragmented, multi-site server estate into a single, highly available data center ahead of a public offering. With demanding SLAs and zero-tolerance for downtime, the company required a solution that would protect a heterogeneous environment and keep gaming services running 24x7 for millions of customers.

888 selected Veritas NetBackup, Enterprise Vault and Symantec Endpoint Protection to provide centralized backup, archiving and endpoint security across roughly 800 production servers and a mixed Windows, Linux and UNIX environment. NetBackup delivers real-time monitoring, granular recovery for VMware, SQL and Active Directory, and encrypted offsite backups; Enterprise Vault is archiving ~600 Exchange clients to cut storage and backup costs; and endpoint protection centralizes device controls. The result is stronger 24x7 availability, simplified management, reduced storage/backup/help-desk costs, and improved compliance readiness.
